This is World Food Programme (WFP) India office's corporate video. So, there's not much to talk about. a corporate video is a corporate video, it talks about what they do in India.
It had to be a simple animation (a small budget video), outlining their work in India, which is a little different from their global image of being a food aid organisation in conflict areas. India does not have that kind of conflict. But the conflict in India is widespread malnutrition.
In India, WFP does not work as a food aid organisation. It is more of a technical partner to the government to create an efficient food delivery system to the most needy. So, they have worked on a better and efficient delivery for Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS), Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Mid Day Meal (MDM). But the work has got a little more nuanced as globally the discussion on public health and development has moved from food to nutrition. The video needed to bring in that angle.
In critical scenarios, with very high nutrition deficiency, WFP is promoting fortification. We just hope that it does not become a new normal. We hope WFP will promote natural nutritious food once the critical stage is over. This will have a great co-benefit of boosting production by small and marginal farmers who traditionally produce more nutritious food.
