Agriculture is a large part of S M Sehgal Foundation's portfolio, the specific concern being small and marginal landholders. The Foundation also works closely with various CSR initiatives, and its flagship project in agriculture, Krishi Jyoti is in collaboration with Mosaic, world's leading producer and marketeer of potash and phosphate, a multinational based in the US. The programme is based in Mewat (now Nuh) district in Haryana, bordering Alwar district of Rajasthan.
We had to make a video with a story of completing 10 years of collaboration between the Sehgal Foundation and Mosaic. The work is a large matrix that starts with soil testing to determine right measures of nutrient, water conservation and efficiency, crop selection and productivity. Mosaic officials made a point about their concern about the well being of small and marginal farmers, as they constitute a large part of the market when aggregated in the global south.
