Coastal populations, often resource poor, have little capacity to respond to climate change impact. Ensuring that they have the resilience to respond requires an in-depth understanding of their specific context.
The AdaptCap project of GIZ had worked with 18 rural communities and 6 urban centres in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The project brought together an integrated understanding of climate change response and management.
Damage Control worked to develop a first phase review of the programme and processes to create easy to understand policy briefings and result summaries for each site. A second booklet, undertaken at the end of the project, focused on 3 sites. We developed in-depth case understandings of the reasons for success at the ground-level and the potential for political and physical replication.
In both cases, we edited field reports, developed editorial content, conducted first person case research, copywriting, photography and final production.
